Pastor Jeff Bouma - Lead Pastor

Pastor Jeff is a 1994 graduate of Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Finance.  After a five-year stint in business, God called him out of that world and into the pursuit of full-time ministry.  In 2003, Pastor Jeff graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.  While pursuing a Masters of Theology degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, completed in 2005, he also worked part-time as a youth pastor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in East Brunswick, NJ.  Upon moving back to his hometown of Grand Rapids, Jeff took over as solo pastor at Wilson Ave. Wesleyan Community Church.  After some time and a whole lot of prayer, the decision was made to shut down the church and start over.  On Oct. 17th, 2007 - The Voyage Church was born, still under Pastor Jeff's leadership.

In his spare time, Pastor Jeff loves to go places he's never been to and listen to new music he's never heard.  And yes, he also loves to spend time with his extraordinary family - his wife Cara and his six children - Mitch, Josh, Zach, Joy, Hope and Seth.

Pastor Jody Bacinski - Spiritual formation Pastor

Pastor Jody serves as an assistant pastor here at Voyage Church. Here, she oversees the children's ministry and the adult spiritual formation ministry.  She preaches about 6 times a year and often officiates at the Lord's Supper.  She gets to teach the older children's church regularly and loves to plan and lead our fun activities.  She also enjoys supporting Pastor Jeff and Cara and their family and doing pretty much whatever needs doing here at Voyage.

Pastoring is a second career for Pastor Jody. She was stay-at home mom to her three kids. When they grew up she had the opportunity for ministerial study.  After study and experience here at Voyage, Pastor Jody was ordained in 2011.

Grandmother and mother are Pastor Jody's favorite jobs.  She is a part-time para-pro in the preschool at Kentwood Public Schools.  She loves to read both nonfiction and historical fiction. She and her husband John love to go camping (even rustic camping) and traveling to national (or provincial) parks. They will be celebrating their 40 year anniversary with a trip to the UP.

As a Christ-follower, Pastor Jody is enjoying the sailing wherever the Holy Spirit blows her sails.
